Part-Time Animal Shelter Technician

The City of Montrose seeks a motivated and friendly individual to join our Animal Shelter Team. Under direct supervision, provides care for stray, abandoned and relinquished animals, serving the public in regard to animal shelter services. Performs data entry. Oversees volunteers, juvenile diversion workers, and community service workers. Qualifications: · High school diploma or general education degree (GED). · Six months training and experience in the care of animals, or experience in a similar position. · Any equivalent combination of education and experience. · Must have a genuine liking for animals and concern for their welfare. · Have knowledge of current animal control regulations, laws and ordinances and stay informed of health issues, new laws, and animal sheltering methods. · Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled. · Must assist with and draw blood from animals. Wage $19.00 per hour and includes a partial benefits package. Application deadline: open until filled
